so we should be set. I was, however, curious after that as to what peas could do for him. (I, myself, HATE peas...) So, I checked the cans in my cupboard. Huh. The peas and carrots have 4% iron and the green beans only have 2%. Interesting... I thought to myself, "I'll have to check at the store against a can of ONLY peas, maybe the carrots are affecting the numbers." So, I did just that. And, it was official: We are NOT going back to that dr. I didn't love him when we were there and there have been other things that bothered me, but this was my last straw. You can NOT recommend something to a diet if you yourself does not know where to find said recommendation. Super lame. Go peas for iron!!!
Anyway, it's now been on my mind and I check random jars, bottles, and cans. I just checked Spaghetti-o's. And, who'da thunk it, they have 10% iron! What?! This seems like it would be so much easier to feed a kid! No fight, a whole lunch.. Maybe. Anway, I thought, "We HAVE to get Gavin on Spaghetti-o's!" LOL. Yep, I really thought that, by the way. :P So, I'm wondering, what would YOUR kids choose?
I'll bet you money, right now, that I will get a screaming tantrum from trying to feed Gavin Spaghetti-o's but a giggle when I bust out the green beans....
I think my kid is broken.. ;)
Good luck in your en devours to get your needed iron!!

Shannon your kid is not broke....you put veggie's and ranch in front of Kaden and a bowl of candy he will go for the veggie's any day. However Kaden would take the O's before the beans he does not like them.
You are fabulous!
Also, what a crappy doctor! Take a freaking nutrition class dude! You should call the office and tell them what you discovered so he doesn't keep giving moms bad information.
Plus, it will embarrass him. ;)
That is awesome Shannon. Thanks for the laugh.
Can you get a multivitamin in him? It might help allay some of your concerns...
Also, I think some whole grain cereals (like Malt O Meal or Cream of Wheat, and even Cheerios) have some iron in them. You can also get them fortified. Also, Vitamin C helps with the absorption of iron, so getting more of that can help make what iron he gets more efficient. :)
I may be kind of freaking out about Finn's nutrition a little...
